Journal Entry: Sun Nov 22, 2009, 5:22 PM
Oh like wow, three journals in two days.

And since I've been feeling negative the past like one day, I need something to cheer me up. TIME TO FEATURE~

But I have to hurry because my dad just shut off the internet ;A; He's letting me pop back on to post.

:iconvert-is-ninja:

Tessa is really cool. Like, I mean, really. Her and her sister (plus an artist that I no longer watch) were pretty much the dynamic duo that got me out of drawing anime. I actually first started following her sister (~fayrenpickpocket) and hurriedly tried to make my style more realistic--but Tessa's edgy, colorful, explosive cartoons caught my attention. She happens to have a really cool comic that I'm completely in love with.

:iconshika192:

Olive and I met at Sealover's OCBC, back in... 2007 or something. :iconimhappyplz: Since then I've had the privilege of watching Olive and her production company, =TestDriveStudios, work their way into fame. I've watched as her characters metamorphosed from simple people into complex beings with their own universes. I'm also in the process of admiring as she diligently deviates into her own art style. Not only is she great at drawing, she's just a great person in general, and definitely deserves her own mention. <3
Oh yeah and also she's a flash, comic, and musical genius. Gosh she's so talented.

:iconmaralane:

Miss Mara was really my first-ever online friend. 8) We met at Youtube before I had a dA. I've been through her name changes as well as account changes: OfficialLoser, to Marraa, to Maralane; and Loser, to Dennis, to Scarlett, and finally now to Mara.
Flippin' schizo.
Anyway <3 She has a definitive art style that separates her art from the rest of the worlds'. She might whine and complain about how technically 'inaccurate' it is, but I still love everything she draws. She's such a breath of fresh air (and draws really cute guys as well 8> ).

:icondippy18:

Classy sexy
I met this ladeh while she was participating in BRC, the second OCT that I held. She placed third and as the last illustrator to make it through, therefore she won 8) of sorts.
Because I bug her about it so much, she's actually finding her own drawing style. YRAY And not only is she getting there, she's already there which makes me incredibly jealous because it took me years to find a drawing style that was cool. She's super sweet and super Mexican, so that means she doesn't speak any English. It's kind of like this botched English that's not English at all.

8)

:iconpandalee:

Pandaree's real name is Anna and she likes reusing tissues. I met her through my friend Nilla whom I met through my friend Jay, which is funny because they all came to my house one night and slept over. And we painted on the walls. And Panda drew me fanart and I was so happy and still am happy. D///: She's a super amazing artist, but thinks she's not. So shoot her in the face.

:iconyoungerchild:

Chichi is me beautiful wife and lover. Haha that's why I always feature her when I do features. BECAUSE I LOVE HER
Somehow, she's gone from drawing manga style to these absolutely stunning digital paintings. 8( Chichi thinks she's not very good, but considering she's a whole year younger than me--I'm completely jealous of her. There's so much texture in her art. And I love her. MY BABY BOOOOO~

So, I read your rant, which you've since deleted (probably a good idea). I don't really know what to say about that. As someone who's watched pirated DVD's (but never bought or downloaded)(it was just once, I won't do it again), I feel like crawling into a corner and covering my head. But as someone who's worked my ass off making movies, I'd be more than happy to join you in burning every pirated DVD in existence (if you're ever in a bad mood, come to Bolivia, and bring a hatchet). I hope it's sort of out of your system now. Rants are good. Just wait 'til I get mad enough to post my racism rant.

:iconstripems:
Heh, good.
Well you're in kind of a difficult situation, considering all movies in Bolivia are pirated (apparently).
But it's awesome because you can understand. <3

I'll make sure to read it and reply, because racism gets to me too. :C

Yeah, it makes me sick.
Oh, and something I've been meaning to ask you... how do you write in small font?

8) Haha. Just add < sub> (without the space) in front of your text. You don't have to cap it if you want your entire comment to be in subtext, but if you have just a certain section you want to be small, tack < /sub> (without the space) at the end of it.

Ahh, that makes me happy. I also appreciate that you can do italics 8) That looks weird. Oh, and speaking of pirated DVD's and stupidity, I was looking at our copy of Ratatouille, and the cover said it was rated R for violence, gore, nudity, and language. Jaja. Oh, Remi, you rapscallion you.

I just checked the SCAD website.

Ffff me likes. 8C

I'm sorry, but that's just the way I am.
:iconstripems:
Dude, you need to go to one of their seminars. <3 It's really, REALLY worth it. That school is so amazing.

And, plus, they like to give out scholarships. :iconicameplz: Tuition is about $30,000 (that includes dorms and meal plan), but you can get up to five thousand for talent (which I know you'll get) and five thousand for academic achievement (I don't know how you are with grades :v). That knocks the tuition down to about $18,000. And then you can get other scholarships based on other things like volunteer work (Which I don't do ffff).

I forgot what the exact percentage was, but I think it's about 80% of students there get a job within the first six months of graduating. And most of them aren't just at small studios, either--a lot of them end up working for big companies like Motorola, Pixar, Disney, Coach (like the purses and stuff), and big magazines like Better Homes and Gardens. 8///( I don't know about you, but I want in on that.

You also get a lot of opportunities to participate in internships, where you will actually go and learn under the wing of a professional. This might be at Disney Studios, Tokyopop or DC Comics, or at scores of other companies that SCAD is affiliated with.

asdjhsafj I'm getting all excited just thinking about it.

You're right, I need to go to a seminar. 8//V

My problem is...I still don't know what to do with my life OTL;;;
I only know I would love to work with computers and draw at the same time. Animation may be a bonus, but I'm not really into it. |D
Other than that I'm blank. 8C (I think I'm in love with motion graphics....but I don't know if I want to work with them. They are only used for like scenes transitions and such. Pretty boring in my opinion. 8V)

*Does research in 10 minutes*
SO, if I choose to go to this place:

It's in Atlanta...which is so perfect like you have no idea. It would fulfill my plan of getting out of Miami and going to the north (Just above FL, lol I don't care.)
And it appears they're going to have an information session on Dec. 13 in Orlando, FL. I would love to go, but I don't think it'll be possible.
And the seminars are in summer, so I'll worry about that later.

Urfff, I love scholarships; the more the better. 8///D
Thank you for the compliment about my talent <333
And I have good grades, yes. (Only A's and B's. Trying to get all A's.)
I don't do volunteer work OTL.

This just sounds like my dream University. 8)

8) That's awesome, though. What's cool about the school is that you go there, get a taste of everything, and then choose what you want to do. They help you decide.

And please please pleeease find time to go to the information meeting. It's so worth it. My mom and I skipped a day of work/school to take a two-hour drive (both ways) just to go to the session. It's really worth it.

8///) I know, right? <3
